For the past three years, a friend from Pennsylvania has come to visit Gieselle and me. As part of the tradition, for the second year now, we have gone to a giant haunted mortuary in the city. As the name suggests, this was a working mortuary at one time, and because its clients we among the non-living, it has obtained a few ghost stories.

Last year the story arc as we moved from room to room was really related to the setting of the mortuary. We stopped to talk mid-way through to the mortician himself, who ended up being a vampire and invited us to “stay for dinner.”

This year, though equally scary with monsters jumping out at us along dark hallways, it lacked the storyline. Still great Halloween experience, and for year-round fright, they offer escape rooms.
